who we are

Hi, we’re Travis and Pixi Johnson — parents to four adult children - and grandparents to one toddler!

We’ve been married for over 30 years, and parents for most of that time.  We’ve been loving our kids through relationship ups and downs, social anxiety, sexuality and gender identity, emotional dysregulation, deep grief, depression, and suicide ideation.

It’s been a lonely road at times.

Ours is an imperfect story of flourishing and failure all mixed together, but as we look back we’re grateful to have stayed the course thus far, and we have much to be thankful for.

In the midst of all the hard things, family life continues to be the most exhilarating, fun-filled, and rewarding experience that is birthing the ‘resolute love’ project.

Where to begin?

Our hope is that the Resolute Love Project will see parents, carers, and friends persevering in ‘unconditional positive regard’ toward their people with a healthy determination, come what may.

Well, that’s our hope! At this point in time, it’s one married couple with deep roots in our local community, and a proven track record for holding space for young people as they explore their story.

Before we rush ahead, we're currently in 'listening mode' -- we would love to hear of your experience supporting someone struggling with their mental health.  You can share your story through our 'resolute love' survey --  resolute.today

what does love look like today?

Not yesterday as it mingles with regret.  Not tomorrow in the swirling mess of fear.   What does love look like today ?   Holding the tension of what could have been and what hasn’t happened yet.   Being present in the present.
